A group of Republic operatives | Republic OperativesOrganizationTemporary Unions | arrived to the safe house where Tott's HQ was located and asked the colonel about the situation. While he was happy to see a member of the famed Havok Squad, he suddenly became aggressive upon seeing that some of the members were Jedi - he personally disliked the Order | Jedi OrderOrganizationGalaxy-Wide Organizations | , thinking the whole war was their fault. He briefed the operatives on the situation and they offered their help in rescuing the hostages, saying that the Empire was expecting an army, not a small team. Reluctantly, he agreed, saying that his observers would let him know when the operatives cleared all the hostages, then he could destroy the artillery with an airstrike. He warned the operatives that the hostages were probably well guarded. The operatives left the safe house and secretly went to the hotel. They were correct in their assumption that the Empire would not attack the small group with heavy artillery, and soon arrived at the entrance to the building. The operatives burst inside the building and attacked the Imperial soldiers, who, after a few seconds of confusion, returned fire. The battle was fierce, but short - soon several Imperials were killed. The operatives continued through the base, fighting resistance along the way - the Imperials were tough, and their T-26G | T-26G Torture Droid(INT-A01 Probe Droid)Droid | support droids only made the task more difficult.Commander Rigby was that the hotel had been attacked by a small group of ragtag individuals, including several Jedi. Rigby, himself an Imperial Guardsman | Imperial Guard (Sith Empire)OrganizationReconstituted Sith Empire | , regretted that he commanded a regular soldiers instead of a regiment of his fellow Guardsmen, but chose not to join the fight, confident that he had enough troops to repel the attack. Therefore, he was very surprised when, after a few minutes, he saw enemy warriors advancing on his position. He was suddenly outnumbered, but that didn't stop him from attacking the invaders. He was confident that he would deal with them easily, without fear of anyone, including the Jedi. Too late, he realized that his opponents were not simple resistance fighters, but elite commandos who fought against him as a well-organized fighting unit. However, he bravely fought them until they finally overpowered him and he fell dead. The operatives had cleared the area around the suites where the hostages had been locked up. They quickly released all the hostages, covering them as they left the building. The operatives returned to the Republic's safe house and reported that all the hostages had been rescued. Colonel Tott thanked them and grudgingly admitted that he had misjudged Jedi team members. He added that once his observers confirmed that all the hostages were out of range, he would give the order for an airstrike on the hotel to permanently destroy the Imperial artillery there. |
